A good script is essential for a good film. Jahela! started as an idea that was developed initially with storyboards. It wasn’t until after several revisions that a script was generated. This was very useful for receiving feedback and for working with live-action filmmakers as many of them were more comfortable with a script than an animatic.
At one point, it was necessary to do an extensive restructure of the film to make it doable as a thesis in the time frame that was available. We were able to work out the details on a white board pretty quickly, using a mix of story beats and boards.
