The project will be a combination live-action and animated film with a running time of about seven minutes.  It incorporates two major stylistic sections.  The first involves clever camera moves with hand-drawn backgrounds and projection mapping.  It will be shot live-action and composited into artificial environments in post.

The second section focuses on pixelation, the art of creating stop-motion with human beings.  It will start with 2d animated action sequences that will be then be matched with human actors, frame-by-frame.  The result will be a novel blend of live-action and animation that has pushes the concept of caricature through motion to new heights.  The idea was inspired by the student film, “Deadline”, which used projectors and pre-animation to design and execute the movie using post-it notes.

For this project, we wanted to take advantage of the fantastically believe fight scenes from Japanese animation to create our own which could be far more visually impressive to watch than anything a real martial artist could do.

By combining the two, we create something truly never seen before in a film, and with actual human actors.
